Did you know that Japanese Homes are considered worthless after 15 years!!? And that houses in Japan only last 30 years on average? In the US and Canada homes last an average of 55 years and in the UK and France an average of 77 years.
There are many factors (cultural, geographical, historical, etc..) that are driving those numbers – but according to research and experts – it has nothing to do with build quality.
Do you think North Americans will ever view homes as disposable?
It would be great for our business! But, we think there is something to be said for Heritage Homes and passing something one to future generations. (Let alone the incredible waste that comes from constantly tearing down homes to re-build them when there is nothing structurally wrong)
